Media, Manipulation & Misinformation Workshop

Radboud University, The Netherlands

20-22 August 2025

About

The 1st workshop on Media, Misinformation, and Manipulation aims to foster discussion and explore potential solutions to individual and systemic factors that impede informed and autonomous decision making in the age of AI. New technologies, disinformation campaigns and global political changes provide major challenges for individual decision makers and even for the survival of entire democracies. These global challenges are multifaceted and require interdisciplinary perspectives to better be able to understand and react to them on an individual but also public level. Thus, this workshop brings together national and international researchers, from early career PhDs to established experts in the field and takes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating perspectives from communication science, computer science, law, philosophy, psychology and social science. It will feature a series of keynotes, working group sessions, and flash talks. By fostering dialogue on these emerging areas and learning from different perspectives, we aim to foster a community dedicated to understanding and tackling some of the biggest challenges of our time.
